What is the Francis Marion Dirt Dash?
The inaugural Francis Marion Dirt Dash Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk will take place in the Francis Marion National Forest. Participants will gather at the Sewee Visitors Center prior to entering the forest. Once in the forest, participants will be corralled based on the event that they are participating in. Half Marathon participants will start at 8:00AM followed by the 5k Run/Walk participants. After the race we will gather at Awendaw Green (www.awendawgreen.com) for the awards ceremony and an after party featuring live music and great food and refreshments. All proceeds from the event help support the Mount Pleasant Fire Departments Wildland Firefighting Program.
